Originally sold on e-bay under the name "babyslings by Helen" the Nurture Sling first came about when my mother-in-law Helen made slings for her grandchildren to be carried in. She was, along with the rest of us, very impressed by the simplicity of using the sling and also by it's basic and stylish yet functional design.
Then Helen started to get more and more requests to make slings for family and friends. We all kept telling her to start a business and so eventually she started to sell the slings on E-bay and, of course, they sold really well.
Some time later Helen invited me and Ben (her son) to join in with her by starting up our own website selling the slings. Helen has since then continued to sell her slings on e-bay, and we still share the 'brand' name that we once decided on; Nurture Sling. Ben and I ran our website under babyslings.com.au for a little over a year until we updated it to our current site and address: nurturesling.com.au
Well, the rest is history!
This business has provided me and Ben with a wonderful opportunity to stay at home with our daughter Ameya for over five years. Ben has recently started a new job, but I am still a WAHM (work at home mother), running this business from our home in Canberra.
We mean for this business to be a good one, we try to only put positive energy into our work and we hope that the children carried in our Nurture Slings will be loved and truly cared for. Ben and I have always wanted to start an organic range, and are delighted to now offer you that. We aim to make this business environmentally friendly in every way and in doing so, we also hope to focus more on our organic range in the future.
